J9 Alien Portrait Exhibition

Janine Cooper Aryes is a beautiful person with a wonderful skill – she makes remarkable paintings of aliens. Her solo exhibition in the Valencia Library community gallery/reading room during the month of October was a hit with many in the local art community, and also with children and parents who visited the facility for “Story Time.” The artist makes use of bold and refreshing color to create human-level likenesses of animals and other beings, whose postures and expressions emote classic earthling portraiture. The library itself is far from an ideal gallery environment, but their space has been used by many in the community in the absence of a true community art space. Janine’s show is over, but we have some pics to prove the existence of aliens, and painting, in the SCV. You can also find more of J9’s workhere.
